THE STORY OF J.C. MARS CREATIONS

   Ever since I was a little girl, I was known as the artist by my peers and family. Every single day, I was drawing up characters, writing and illustrating my own little story books, doodling on my school work, and almost anything I could find that would accept pencil or pen strokes. I had a natural talent, a gift, and it was what I loved to do. My dream was always to be an artist when I grew up.

   Fast forward to young adulthood, I quickly learned that it isn't quite that easy to just go out and get a career in art, and I also became a mother for the first time at the age of 18 years old. To say that was life changing is an understatement. My entire world changed, just like that, and I ended up having two sons who taught me the meaning of true, unconditional love. These two little boys swept me off my feet and nothing else in the world mattered anymore besides their well being and happiness. Needless to say, all of my hobbies, including art, had to go to the bottom of my priority list as single motherhood and full time employment took up so much time, and those years turned in several years, and creativity started to seem like only a memory. Meanwhile, my sons grew up, and I couldn't be more proud of them. I was beginning to have the time for art, but that spark and motivation had been buried for so long, I almost felt like I didn't have it anymore.

   Around 2019-2020, I saw this new, (or new to me), technique called "Ice Dying". It's the same materials as liquid dying but a different process. I've always loved tie dye, and had even dabbled in it before with some hobby shop kits in the past. When I saw the results these artists were getting with this ice dye process, I immediately thought..."This is IT! THIS is the look I love and I never even knew it!" I quickly researched more about it and decided that ...I'm going to do this, I'm going to go for it, scared or not... and dove right in, splurged, and bought several groovy colors to play with. It felt so great to have that creative spark come back, new ideas rolling in my head, actually wanting and looking forward to something besides sleeping again; It felt wonderful that the young girl that loved to create art was back again! I missed her, after all...she IS me.

   I founded J.C. Mars Creations to share my passion of creating with the world. I am a one woman owned and ran small business with one goal...to create beautiful, one of a kind pieces that can hopefully bring a smile to your day. Every design is 100% originally hand dyed and can not be replicated to an exact match, no matter if I use the same colors and techniques; That's why I believe there is something for almost everyone, here, as they are as unique as each individual person. I am the sole creator from the moment I choose which blank items to use, the preparation, what design to go with and tying/folding it up, to carefully choosing what colors and applying, rinsing and washing, all the way to packaging and shipping off to a new home. I put my love and imagination into each individual piece, and hopefully you can see it, too.
